Man in prison for Bethlehem shooting says lawyer erred

A former Bethlehem man serving up to 56 years in state prison for a shooting spree -- despite trial testimony from two witnesses who claimed they had falsely identified him as the gunman -- says he deserves a new trial because his lawyer made numerous errors.

Reinaldo Fantauzzi, 25, was convicted in July 2006 of two counts each of attempted homicide and weapons charges and four counts each of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Fantauzzi, the jury concluded, opened fire Aug. 13, 2005, in the Marvine-Pembroke section of the city. He was sentenced to serve 28-56 years in prison.
