Yuzo Yanagitsuru, son of Masue and Toshinori Yanagitsuru of San Mateo, recently completed an 11-week research training program in the biological sciences at the University of Florida's Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience in St. Augustine, Florida. Based on the excellence of his research, Yanagitsuru was granted a travel award from the biological division of the National Science Foundation to attend the annual meeting of the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology that will be held January 2014 in Austin, Texas.
