Darrell L. Martinez, 26, of Raton, passed away in Raton March 14, 2008. He was born in La Junta, Colo., Jan. 4, 1982, the son of Sherry Gwyn Martinez and Dickie Martinez. He was a heavy equipment operator for the natural gas pipeline and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Raton.
Darrell was preceded in death by his grandfather Kenneth Darrell Coon and grandfather Lester Lee Gwyn.
He is survived by his mother Sherry Martinez of Raton, grandmother Darlene Coon of Raton, his father Dickie Martinez of Phoenix, sisters Donna Gardner and husband John of Raton, Keena Martinez and Kerri Martinez of Raton, brothers Tanner Martinez and Preston Martinez of Raton, and Marshall Martinez of Los Angeles.
