It is nice that the Senate Cap & Trade bill (in its current form, I can’t keep up with the added pages)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics...
is on-line. However, that gave me the opportunity to note a very distressing fact: Section 744. INTERNATIONAL OFFSET CREDITS, will provide the global redistribution of wealth that is so desired by the leftists. This is our future being given away to foreign countries where corruption is rampant (well, it's also rampant in Washington DC, but that is another problem).
Often, the SO2 (acid rain) cap & trade program of 1992 is held up as an example of sucess, and yes it has worked. However, that plan was debated on the floor of congress for 6-weeks. It did not permit international offsets.
This international plan for GHGs will be rife with corruption.
Also, like the House version, will 300 pages be added to the bill at 2am on the day that it is voted on and passed by the Senate?
Get a grip folks, we are being had.

Some of the world's largest polluters, mainly China, were declared exempt during the Kyoto Summit. It's more BS to distract our attention from the real problems and the attempt to take over our great nation by those who despise it.

You know what "Going Green" is all about? Money. A very old man, now deceased but born in the 1880's told me, Money is like manure. Pile it up and it smells. Spread it around and it makes things grow. He was the great nephew of Meriwether Lewis as in Lewis & Clark. And that is what Going Green is about. Only money.

Our good friend Harry Teague voted for cap and trade, the "Energy Bill," in the House. But he voted for it only after it was amended to protect his business interests in the oil industry.

Marita Noon needs a fact checker before offering such a diatribe. There are too many errors to cover here, but I will mention just one of the more obvious. Back in the 1970's there was never consensus or anything like it claiming 'global cooling.' That is just fiction. There were a handful of articles in the main stream media concerning such, but climate scientist were never on board. There was one undergraduate from Stanford who later recanted his views as he learned more about the subject. This nonsense has been debunked time and time again. Stop listening to Beck and such ilk.

When untruths such as the above creep into a piece it brings the entire entry into question.

Additionally she should be asking why the leading 'green' wind turbines and blades and solar innovation is coming from offshore. It is just not as simple as she imagines.

All in all a very weak offering from CARE.

Daily Horoscope for December 18

Cancer

You'll be happiest when you're with people who make you feel loved and cherished. You'll bend over backwards to keep them sweet, and will concede arguments and disputes for the sake of peace. Try not to make it peace at any price because that could be setting up problems with people who will then try to take advantage of your good nature. Co-operation is one thing, being a doormat is quite different.
