Police Reports, August 28 - September 10, 2014

Newtown Police, Hook & Ladder and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members all responded to a two-vehicle collision with injuries reported September 9 at 5:57 pm at 65 Church Hill Road, just west of its intersection with Commerce Road. Upon arrival police determined that Constant Gregoire, 17, was in the eastbound lane operating a 2002 Land Rover when she collided with the rear of a 1999 Jeep Cherokee being operated by Viola Walberg, 54, of Brookfield.

Signal crews responded on Tuesday, August 26, to the busy junction of Main Street, Sugar Street, South Main Street, and Glover Avenue in seeking to resolve a phasing problem with the traffic signals at the busy four-way intersection where two state routes meet.
