Highway Dedication

People gathered in Lake Butler to remember a man, and name a road in his honor. CR-231 has been dedicated as "Officer Adam Sanderson Memorial Highway." In front of The Reception and Medical Center the sign was unveiled, followed by a prayer.

Two of four occupants of a car that left CR 125 north of Glen St. Mary the early evening of June 17 died several hours after they were airlifted to Shands Jacksonville.

Car plows into tree in Baker County; 2 dead, 2 injured

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle crash in Baker County that killed two people and caused serious injuries to two others, including a 4-year-old. The crash took place about 6 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 125, just northeast of Macclenny.

$316K contract Asphalt over EZ Base

The Baker County Commission awarded a contract valued at roughly $316,000 to Jacksonville-based APAC June 2 for the asphalt paving of nine road segments spread throughout the county, about 3.8 miles in all.

Business goes up in f lames

The charred remains of Erosion Stoppers in Sanderson. Fire officials were unable to identify the cause of a blaze that completely destroyed a commercial building off Reid Stafford Road south of Sanderson the morning of June 8. Fire Chief Richard Dolan said the 3052-square-foot home of Erosion Stoppers Inc.
