Police are working to find the person who left a man for dead in Montcalm County.

The conditions are prime for wildfires in some parts of West Michigan Wednesday.

Investigators in Kent County say witness accounts led them to an arrest after a home invasion in Nelson Township on Monday.

Kent County detectives took what neighbors offered Monday, naming 32 year old Vince Demorest of Sand Lake as their suspect for a Nelson Township home invasion.

Nelson Township resident Brad Smith knew something wasn't right when he saw a plume of smoke rising into the air as he drove west on 18 Mile near Shaner about 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16.
