Follow the money, see the pattern. When the Pebble Beach Co. wanted to develop new subdivisions, add a golf course, expand hotels and cut thousands of pine trees, they used the slogan "Save Pebble Beach Trees" to dupe county voters into passing their corporation-sponsored ballot initiative.
