I don't see this thing getting a whole lot of use. And particularly in the next few months. You'd have to be pretty hard-core to be out there in the pouring rain...

wasn't this project supposed to be finished like two years ago? This is like a jobs program for construction workers. Its weird how many of these projects are all over Marin that are dragging on now, and they never seem to get finished!

As a lifetime Marin resident, I noticed as soon as they finished the freeway WALLS that the air ON the freeway while driving seems MUCH worse. Does anyone notice the much stronger smell of car fumes? I feel for the commuters who must sit in the accumulation of all that smog. I drove to Terra Linda from SR and WOW...like a sledgehammer it hit me! Right when I approached from the onramp in SR....instant death stench...laden with hot, toxic particles...an asthmatics nightmare. I instantly covered my mouth with my shirt.
I would like to see a comparison of air samples done....

The solution... get out of your cars and stop adding to the problem.

Graffiti Problem? SR Police, now you know where to hang out. Give Jimmi Olmstead the $500.00 reward.

And what is the excuse for taking an eternity to finish the lincoln offramp and the new tiles on the soundwalls? I don't know why the city and the county don't take on more of a role in supervising these projects that drag on for years.

I laughed when I saw the picture of the mini cannister in the IJ with a caption that said these were used for nitrous oxide and party drugs. For chrissakes, IJ, do some fact checking before repeating random idiotic assumptions from the peopel you interview. Those cannisters are used by bicyclists to repair flat tires, and were filled with CO2. I happen to have 3 of them in my saddle pack. I had no idea that I was in possession of party drugs!

Here's a suggestion: roll up your windows. That way the outside air doesn't get in the car.

Once again Bob Haus trots out the weather excuse. Maybe he's right, delays are weather-related--it's been so nice all the workers keep going to the beach?

Be sure to ride the bike path along side the freeway when it gets finished. When riding a bike you will have to breath even harder than just sitting in a car, and those fumes give people energy. If you get sick, just blame it on second hand cigarette smoke or wood stoves. People are stupid to build a bike path next to a freeway or diesel train line, but that is your tax dollars at work. I do wonder how much use that new bike path will get.

Dear Dayrider, check out nitrousoxidechargers.com and you'll see another use for those chargers. Happy riding!

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Taurus

As Mars turns retro, emotional tension makes you feel as though you're walking on eggshells. The temperature has risen by several notches, making the situation at home more fraught. Better to clear the air quickly and cleanly than to sulk and brood in ways that simply prolong the agony.
