Under Rick Wells's watch, Vallejo became bankrupt (although that was City Council's decision). That means CoC didn't attract enough businesses to Vallejo to generate the kind of tax revenues that would have increased the general fund. So now he's leaving town, while Vallejo is left holding the bag.

Buh bye Rick!
Maybe the chamber will now buy a clue: Hire a real marketing person in there, not people who market Vallejo with those little froggie key chains with Vallejo's website stamped on its back. GET A REAL MARKETING PERSON and stop with the insular club mentality. What have you done for the last 50 years except accept Vallejo's contract cash and almost free rent (glad the city finally stopped that) with nothing to show for except a froggie keychain?(and the slogan "Vallejo Gateway" yeah, thats what we are, a place to drive thru as fast as you can to get to Napa and Tahoe.) |
Maybe someone from the extensive VIB human resources division can "step up" and volunteer to be a "real" marketing person on a percentage contract?
You actually believe Wells failed? Of course you do! This is more talent drain, and more is coming. I see there is a resignation from the Planning Commission as well, in keeping with the trend of several other resignations since bankruptcy. Let me know when the change gets here or a new college in the downtown. |
Yes, let have the VIB supporter "college town" gold-collar worker ideology select the next Chamber of Commerce leader. |
Seriously, have the city let an all-VIB panel make the selection. What have we got to lose?
Throw down the gauntlet! |
Ummmmm....can you list his accomplishments please? Or ANY Chamber accomplishments? I'm waiting.......... |
VIB Accomplishments: Gomes and Brown elected - Yeah!
It sure would be better than what has occured in the past. While the Chamber may have received an award what have they done to attract businesses to Vallejo. Politically all they seem interested in is the Downtown--the rest of Vallejo doesn't seem to exist for them. Finally their choice of endorsements for City Council like Pam Pitts etc is a joke. The Chamber pushed the same hacks that the Unions did and see where that has gotten us. |
What did he do here? Vallejo's chamber has been impotent for so many years that it really won't matter when he leaves. The only people who take the chamber seriously are its members.
agreed :) have u ever picked up the chamber newsletter...*puts finger in throat* what a group of self important snobs.....vile |
Cheese to go with that whine? Thanks for the morning yuk yuk.
I agree. Have you ever looked at their website? Please, go to it and check out the photos of the "mixers." I nodded off looking at all those bores. |
Good riddance!! Many Chamber members quit because the Chamber hadn't done anything but hold meetings and snack on things. There was never a plan to market Vallejo. A sign on the wall that says they are Chamber members? WHAT DOES THAT DO? Good riddance, don't let the door hit you on your way out.
First Riley, then Henke, now Wells, the rats just keep on leaving.
I NEED A GOOD LAUGH TODAY I WILL CHECK IT OUT THANKS ....HAVE A NICE DAY SHAY :) |
jd, you guys wanted psu's and chamber apologist/gobs to leave, then when they do you call them rats. what is it with you? just frustrated still over measure u for our raises? a large number of voters in fact want to make sure we get our raises. how do you account for that? take your time. |
Stop drinking the kool aide. what people voted for was to have a safer envirnoment--losing another 20 to 25 Public Safety employees would have placed residents in an unsafe envirnoment. If you think they wanted you to have a raise you are delusional. Many have lost lost respect for the Greed shown by VPOA--you no longer are viewed as heros but money grubbers who don't disserve our respect. |
BINGO! |
the pd serves all without regard to repect. soon you will be down to what you can afford, finally. where did you pull the 20-25 number from? the same place you pull the rest of your phdata? i thought it wasn't dangerous in "v-town" anyway? make up your mind. |
We have been told that Reading Comprehension wasn't one of your strengths while pursuing your GED.I guess I made an erronerous assumption that you had the intellect to get one. According to your fearless leader Nichellini from Oakland the total cost for a Cop in Vallejo is 200K a year . About $5MM was on the line if the UUT failed. If you kept up with your multiplcation tables ( or did you fail that also) that equates to 25 cops . |
