Dickinson police have arrested and charged a man who came forward to admit his role in a fatal stabbing late Tuesday.

Umar Marchabeyoglu, 54, of Dickinson died a gunshot wound to the stomach after being shot by Deputy Marina Gonzales in the 300 block of 19th Street in San Leon.

The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. in the 300 block of 19th St, according to the Galveston County Sheriff's Office.
