Full story: SantaFeNewMexican.com

Carlos Fierro wants a state district judge to postpone his vehicular homicide trial to allow the "multiple experts" hired by his defense team more time to study evidence and form opinions, according to a motion filed this week.

but you can't hide. You can call all the witnesses you want and you can call all your political pals to try and help you out and it might even work and you'll get off but at the end of the day you'll always be a druken scumbag murderer. It's a burden your kid will have to carry around forever.

What a joke Mr. Fierro is trying every way possible to get off for the murder of Mr. Tenorio this is disgusting...Also he should take the wrap for his actions. Mr. Lovato yes was the passenger of his car but noone knows if he tried to stop Mr. Fierro from stopping we were not in the vehicle at the time just because he was a State Police Officer it seems like everyone is judging him but guess what this man lost his job and now his house because Fierro does not want to take the wrap. I hope the Judge moves forward with his trial Fierro should not have special needs in this case "Lock Him Up"....

Just because you have money and you want to walk free just remember you will be Judged by GOD for your actions...

It is a process he is going through. He knows the dance and will try and stay to the last dance. Facts are facts and he can change nothing about that night. Bottom line...He killed another human being driving his car drunk. He probably walks the floor at night with worry over all this he created. When he dies someday he faces the highest judge. He let down his family, child and his profession..He will always be known as the attorney that drove drunk and killed a man and used every sleezy trick in the book to get out of it. He will always have to live with the shame of what he has done...Mr. Fierro you had it all and pissed it away in one night with your arrogance thinking that the rules don't apply to you...You drink, You drive, You lose.......................

Fierro and anyone defending him...
You are nothing but arrogant, heartless scumbags who should be ashamed with the way you are dealing with this.

Man up Fierro and Lovato...stop hiding behind your politico butt buddies. Face the music and end this already.

Disgusting that people are reading about this all over the country. They don't know how it works here in NM when you murder someone, but know all the right people that can get you off...what an embarrassment.

These lawyers that Fierro hired make me sick and angry that they're taking his blood money and attempting to get him off. If he was a man and accepted responsibility for his actions, I could see him receiving leinancy, but at this point I hope he gets life in prison.

Is this character killed a human being, drove off in hopes of not getting caught. He still roams the streets, where as anyone else would have the book thrown at them by now. What is so special about this drunken fool er... I mean lawyer. Hang this pathetic loser, and save us tax payers our money which can be better spent for a positive cause.

Interesting. Seems like Carlos "The Fat Weasel" Fierro and his tag team, of High $$$ Attorneys have found some ways to get this rat's tail out from under the spring trap. One of these, it seems, is to make the whole thing look like an unavoidable accident. If Carlos was sober, and driving his expensive car, and the streetlights were down on Guadalupe, and Tenorio was 3 sheets to the wind and wearing black, and Carlos was switching radio stations and hit Tenorio, it might still be Criminal Neglience of some type. BUT, being that Carlos and his cop pal were hangin' at the Rio, downing high end shots and designer brews, to the point of him getting so ****faced, that he was driving his auto with 2 wheels blown, it seems to me, that Judge Vigil is not going to be fooled by legalese. What Fierro and his Team are doing is called "grasping for straws"

Seriously? The same Judge Vigil that just slapped the wrist of the guy who killed the two people on a motorcycle while he was drunk? The same Judge Vigil who just let the young burgler out for 10 days to get his teeth worked on at the taxpayers expense?

I understand one is innocent until proven guilty. However, all the information that has come out so far points to guilt and his attorney's know it. Carlos Fierro is a despicable person. Can't blame this just on his attorney's, remember he has a team of attorney's and is one himself. This what they do. Shuck and jive, distort, stretch the truth, spin, etc. They are wanting a delay for more time because they don't have a defense and are looking for one microscopic shred of something to use to try and get him off. There was plenty of opportunity for Fierro to take the high road and plead guilty to WHAT HE DID, take the standard NM DWI slap-on-the-hand and be done with it. But this guy's ego and arrogance are in control of his life.

I'm not sure what has happened to something in people called conscience. I'm a boomer and growing up I remember it meant something, it was important and a cornerstone of being a good person. But today it means nothing to a lot of people. The minute someone does something they are guilty of, the first thing they do is deny it or try and place blame on someone or something else. Whenever I hear the New Mexico Mother's Mantra ("he's really a good boy" or "he didn't do it") I see one of the reasons why we have generations of children growing up without a conscience. Think about it. How many times have we heard about a child getting in trouble at school and the first thing the parents do is defend their actions, go to the new media and plead innocence, place blame on the school or someone else, or hire an attorney. Whenever I hear comments about how terrorist have no value for human life I have to ask the question are we really that much different.

"Seriously!" I didnt say that Judge Vigil was going to be harsh when it came to sentencing. At some point in the Trial, the high $$$ Attorneys and Fierro himself may agree to "cop a plea" with the DA that allows Fierro to get his sentencing time cut. I DID say that the BS legalese beating around the bush with the lame "Tenorio was walking backwards talking on his cell and it was dark" crap wont fool any judge including him, thanks for playing.

Sure they want the trial delayed. Witnesses may die or their memories become fuzzy. For defendants who delay their trials, sometimes miracles do happen.

This is mierda de toro. Even IF Tenorio did have narcotics in his body, would that have made it ok to run him down and run away? I don't think so. On with the trial!

Do you really think that a person who gets behind the wheel of a car while totally drunk has a conscience? If he had a conscience, he wouldn't be in this predicament.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Aquarius

You're in a tricky position because someone who is supposed to know what they're talking about seems to be spouting complete nonsense instead. If this is an older friend or relative then you can simply smile politely and wait for them to rejoin the rest of us on Planet Earth. But if it's a boss or bureaucrat who's talking rubbish or giving you some puzzling orders, you'll be in a quandary about what to do.
