Bank lawsuit near settlement
After almost two years of litigation, a shareholder lawsuit against the defunct Saddle River Valley Bank and its majority shareholder, board of directors and former chief executive officer is "near a global settlement," according to a note from the judge handling the case in state Superior Court in Bergen County.

A father-and-son duo have agreed to pay $5.5 million - including $4 million in investor restitution - to settle allegations that they defrauded more than 30 investors and used the money to buy Maseratis and expensive homes, state officials said today.
