Perley was born in Garrison on Feb. 27, 1921, to Fred W. and Nina Draffehn. He was given the name of Perley which was his mother's maiden name.

Carl B. Carlson, 90, Ryder, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at a Garrison hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan.
