The Coast Guard continues to work with a salvage company on a plan to move a decommissioned Navy ship that broke free of its moorings in the James River during last week's nor'easter and ran aground in Isle of Wight County.

By Jim Tuttle Smithfield Times Staff Writer Several ships belonging to the James River reserve fleet were moved from their anchor points during the northeaster Thursday evening.

Schools closed in Isle of Wight County Thursday but not until after middle- and high-schoolers had made it to their respective schools - and will be closed on Friday.
