I hope alot of people show up for this, I know Brian and Marsha and they are good people. Please come out and show your support. Plus all you people who get on here and trash the cops here is your chance to get even, hit them with a pie or dunk them, and the money goes to a good cause. Hope to see you there.

The deputies do have health insurance, but it is peia and we know how good that is LOL, but it still only covers a portion. There is still the expense of staying it Pittsburgh, traveling, and what the insurance doesnt cover.

Insurance does not pay for hotels, food, gasoline and all the other things that a family needs when they have someone in a out of town medical center.

I'm glad they raised some money and sure it would of been alot better if the weather was enjoyable factor. I have to admit I'm a little shocked with the outcome of officer's that showed up but I'm sure they made private donations, which still serves the purpose. The support of the local community will help this little baby have a second chance and pray that he makes a speedy recovery.

I hear the Sheriff could not make it to the fundraiser at the Autumnfest because he was going to Roanoke to pick up their new dog that was being flown in. Shame on you sir #1 for missing a fundraiser for a sick baby so you could pick up a dog and #2 for not picking a dog from the local animal shelter or a local breeder. Just shows where his priorities lie.

Why does every thread on this piece of crap site have to turn ugly? Who cares if the Sheriff went to get a dog? Who cares where it came from? Who cares who was there and who was not? I am sure there were a lot of people within the Sheriffs Office family that contributed. Maybe more deputies should have been there. But fact of the matter is this. This was a fundraiser for the family of Brian and Marsha Sheppard. It was successful. That is what matters. All of that other stuff does not matter. Please leave this one thread alone, just to show that there really is some good still in this old world.

So true. Topix is the devil and it turns us all into evil, avatar demons. I think that the person who wrote all of the crap about the dog is just one of THOSE people You know who I'm talking about Debbie Downers who live only to gripe and complain...probably the same person who devoted an entire thread to bit#hing about TOOT tokens. They're totally lame, they have no life, they're sad and pathetic and they want to take it out on us.
