A Schuyler couple faces charges after they allegedly fraudulently received $16,000 in welfare benefits, the Herkimer County Sheriff's Office said. Stephen J. Roman Sr., 52, and Ruth A. Roman, 47, are charged with welfare fraud, grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing.
