Seymour nears 2,000
According to an estimate released last week by the U.S. Census Bureau, the city of Seymour's population now stands at 1,993, a slight jump from the 1,921 counted in the official 2010 census. The population growth of roughly 3 percent is behind the county's estimated growth of 6.8 percent in the seven-year period between 2010 and 2017, census officials said, noting the estimated population of Webster County is 38,665.
