Five people were injured in a weekend rollover accident Saturday south of Roff. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tracey Laxton said the wreck happened on State Highway 1 just south of Hickory at 2:55 p.m. Michael Shannon Key, 20, Hickory, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche south when a rear tire blew out.

Former Roff All-State Baseball player Caleb Bass will be playing in the National Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colo., May 23-30. Bass graduated from Roff in 2007 and now pitches and plays outfield for the Cowley County Tigers in Arkansas City KS.

Charges are pending against a Roff man for allegedly stabbing another man in Ada last week.

By Randy Mitchell Staff Writer ADA - A 12-person jury took just under six hours to find a man guilty of beating his wife to death in March 2007.

Roff special election results are in and Todd McCaskill defeated challengers Doris M. Harrison and Murl D. Phillips.

In Atoka County, three candidates are competing for the Democrat nomination for County Commissioner, in District 3. They are Phillip Culbreath, Jerry Settlemire, and Clint Crites.

"Tuesdays with Morrie" performance begins Friday at Dorothy Summers Theatre. The play is an autobiographical story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor.
