The William Leonard Public Library District in the impoverished south of Chicago suburb Robbins, IL, remains open, and should do so through November, but "every day is a struggle," says administrator Priscilla Coatney.

1. Start a fundraiser
2. start a book club for kids
3. start group activites for seniors
4. start group teen programs/ meetings

I know its a library and not a youth center, but that's mainly your target market right now I know funds are short, but use what you got and make the dollar streght cut hours down, open later then normally, but open for libary used
Reseacrh local libraries in a 20mi radius and see what they are doing to hold on

This is an early sign of a government and an economy that is dying a death of a thousand cuts. First libraries can't be funded. Then forest fire fighting. Then long term care for all the Afghanistan and Iraquagmire brain injury victims. Then ongoing foreign conflicts. Then debt obligations.

(In that order! Priorities, you know!)
