Why do you people have to be so negative all the time. It's a sweet, simple piece. There is something in what he says that makes a relaxing Sunday read of the paper a little bit more enjoyable. If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all. If you have a constructive criticism then you should say it but if you are just going to be snarky...well because it isn't something nice, I'm not going to say it.

There are so many ways that each of us can contribute to our local community, and many times all it takes is a positive idea, a little initiative and some elbow grease. It's good to remind people that it doesn't take deep pockets to accomplish good deeds. I'm personally happy to read a positive bit of non-polarizing, non-crime-related news! And as for the crabby commenters, if you take the time to vent like this on a harmless little article, I would not like to see how hateful and punitive you are in you are in real lives!
