Woman shot in head; ex-husband charged
A Hardin County woman was in critical condition at a Louisville hospital Sunday after her ex-husband, whom she planned to remarry, shot her in the back of the head, police said.
State police said Connie Hayes, 55, of Rineyville was shot late Saturday at her home on Thomas Road. Behind the shooting, police said, was Darrell W. Hayes, 43, to whom she was once again engaged.
Troopers said they found Connie Hayes lying on a couch as they arrested Darrell Hayes on a charge of first-degree assault. Read more
