"Do-a Ana Community College is also expecting an increase in enrollment, with its full-time equivalency enrollment up 10 percent from last year, officials said. Much of that growth is in the school's health, public safety, and early childhood education programs."
Where is Do-a Ana? I have never heard of this! Spell check! |

That's just how those n's appear on the computer. They come out fine in the paper, but for some reason the internet version doesn't display them correctly |

We get this same story every semester! Does the number of students ever go down? That would be news! A bad economy usually sends more people, especially older people, to school.
It would be interesting to know if the proportion of non-traditional students has increased. The media has repeatedly reported that this recession is disproportionately affecting males who engage in blue-collar work. So, it would also be interesting to know if the proportion of males "resorting" to tertiary education has increased. Anyhow, I imagine next semester we'll receive the same story about how there are more students than ever, along with a blurb about some one student's housing or parking situation. |
