Rains drench Columbia County

Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 5:20 p.m. Heavy rains today dumped from 2.2 inches to as much as 4.25 inches across Columbia County, according to rain gauges at county facilities, but no major flooding issues were reported.

Tornado warning issued for Northeast Georgia county

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Hart County and upstate South Carolina after trained weather spotters reported a funnel cloud nine miles northeast of Carnesville or about five miles south of Lake Hartwell.
