On this day in 1864, John Singleton Mosby was critically wounded in a Union cavalry ambush near Rectortown, in Fauquier County, after returning from a Ranger wedding.

As of Wednesday morning, the following roads in Fauquier County are still closed, according to Fauquier Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management.

Arlene Mae Tines, 45, of Leesburg died Wednesday, May 12, 2009. A funeral will be held at noon Monday, May 17, at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Rectortown, with family receiving friends from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
