Michelle Henry Named First Assistant DA for Bucks County
When Bucks County District Attorney Michelle Henry announced last year that she wouldn't be running for a full term, she said it was because she missed being in the courtroom.
Come January, Henry will start getting a lot more courtroom time as she moves from her office to the post of first assistant district attorney.
She's about the best darn lawyer in the county, and certainly the best prosecutor in the office.- David Heckler, Bucks County District Attorney-Elect

Paul Clymer Sets Record Straight on Stepanoff Endorsement Controversy
I personally spoke with Representative Paul Clymer (R-145) last evening. The long and the short of it... Paul Clymer did not offer his endorsement to Quakertown School District Board incumbent Paul Stepanoff (R) in his bid for reelection.
However, Clymer did not specifically reject Stepanoff as a candidate, saying instead, "I support the Republican slate of candidates as listed on the official Republican sample ballot." Paul further elaborated that school board issues are very localized and that his focus on education is mainly at the state level regarding policy.
Clymer states that there is indeed a big difference between supporting a slate of candidates from a particular political party and a specific endorsement offered to an individual candidate.
State Senator Bob Mensch (R-24), it appears, was also incorrectly attributed on campaign literature as having endorsed Paul Stepanoff. He did not.

Bucks County Herald Replaces Free Press in Quakertown Cares Campaign
Quakertown Cares is back for another season, with one big change. The Bucks County Herald is supporting the Quakertown Cares campaign this year. The charitable organization has been helping veterans, senior citizens and families with children since 1995.
The Herald is picking up where The Quakertown Free Press left off when it closed last winter. That newspaper initiated the campaign and it grew from $6,000 the first year to a peak in 2005 at $50,000.
The Herald will print a coupon for donations in editions through December and readers are asked to submit the coupon with donations to Quakertown National Bank (QNB), the major sponsor. Each week this paper will report on the donations received, listing the donors.

Apathy to Blame for Widespread Democratic Losses?
Despite having fewer voters, Republicans dominated the local, county and state races.
There are several theories for the reversal of fortune. Democrats are pointing to the low voter turnout, a sign that voters were just not excited or didn't particularly care about this election.
Democrats fall in love and Republicans fall in line. We didn't have anyone to love.- Bill Brocious, 145th Democratic Committee Chair
