The 50th delivery of Bank of Cheer was completed Thursday as a group of volunteers delivered 200 boxes of food and blankets to all parts of the Eastern Shore.

CHINCOTEAGUE -- The movie based on the children1s novel "Misty of Chincoteague" has been popular for generations, but for Wayne Custis of Craddockville, the film is not only a good story, but a fond memory.

Chincoteague entered the 1900s in the midst of political turmoil. Its first try at incorporation had been approved by the General Assembly in 1900, and then repealed a year later with much disagreement and numerous allegations of forged petition signatures.

Local artist Robert Lentz of Pungoteague completed a series of works from a large black cherry tree that grew on a historic site called Morattico Hall.
