Prophetstown still feels impact of devastating fire, but the tight-knit community finds a strength it didn't know it had Eight buildings were destroyed July 15 and two others damaged in the 300 block of Washington Street in Prophetstown. The city bought all of the lots from the owners following the fire and still has three of the parcels today.
