The Open Bible Temple Independent Baptist Church, Powellton, will have homecoming services beginning with Sunday school at 10 a.m. on Sunday, followed by the morning worship and lunch around 12:30 p.m. There will not be an evening service.
Fayette County Man Behind Bars in Murder Case
A Fayette County man is behind bars, charged in connection with a murder. According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, Scott Boyd Burgess, 44 of Powellton, was arrested Friday night around 10:00. Police say Burgess is accused of setting fire to a home, killing Kenneth Edward Pritt, 30 also of Powellton, last month.
Fayette County Domestic Dispute Results in Gun Fire
A domestic dispute turned to gun fire. According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, Michael Jackson, 30 of Smithers, was shot several times, early Saturday morning.
