Cyclist injured on Santiam Pass
SANTIAM PASS: A Powell Butte-area motorcycle operator was seriously injured last Wednesday afternoon when he lost control after attempting to pass a westbound commercial truck on Highway 20 near the summit of the Santiam Pass.
According to Oregon State Police Trooper Rich Brannin, the accident occurred on July 2nd at approximately 4:56 p.m., involving a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Larry R. Henderson, 61. Henderson was westbound near milepost 81 when he attempted to pass a truck on the right. He lost control of the motorcycle, left the roadway, and struck two fog markers before coming to rest in the westbound slow lane.
