ToNH Incompetence

Beware -- the ToNH Building Department is incompetent.
They do not -- and claim they cannot -- enforce completion according to the written terms of the plans they approve.

Parking problems??? The developer is planing on building on top of a huge parking lot that is never less than 95% vacant, EVER. The lot is currently an eye sore and putting this bank and a couple new homes would help beautify the neighborhood. This happens everytime someone trys to build in Port Washington, some residents with to much time on their hands make a big fuss over nothing (or something that would help more than hinder). These 20+ people need to get a life.

this is really a beautification project, with a parking solution,,This project solves the community issues and most "close by" neighbors seemed enthused. The developer has heard nearby neighbors concerns and adressed them<<and by the way ,the less parking is a result of constsnt tresspassing ,,afterall, this isnt a municipal lot.

nearby property owner

I own property nearby and and very enthused about this project<<I see it as a solution to the problem,,Port Washington reidents have a habit of fighting what is best for them just for the sake of getting attention,,Aguy stood up and asked meaningless questions about a different project,,he seemed like he was getting his 5 minutes of fame,Give it a break Port washington<FInd a cause!!

Yo, "concerned citizen", "nearby property owner", "restsurant patron" and whatever other names you care to call yourself in your incessant cheerleading campaign: STUFF IT.
ToNH can't be trusted to ensure this or any other project is built and finished to plan. They have no balls.

yo incompetence,,seems like you have a different ax to grind against a group of civic leaders and politicians doing theyre job,and it is a job without much reward,,you should go buy a stuffed anumal and pummel it if you need a punching bag,but this isnt your forum, if you have a vendetta,,find a better place to post your venom.,,,

The town of PW is way to crowded. This may be a samll project, but so is adding homes to Sands Point (Lands End Project), the Chabad is doubling in size, etc... Add that to the condos added in recent years at Millpond (was it 120 units?) and you get the picture. Check out Port Washington Blvd. at rush hour or on a rainy day or even when school lets out. It is a nightmare. Every new project needs scrutiny in terms of its impact on this pennisula.

It is a nightmare. Every new project needs scrutiny in terms of its impact on this pennisula. ToNH treats the whole issue like just another 10-20 degrees added to the "frog in slowly boiling water". Beware of the seemingly gradual change, before you suffer a catastrophic loss. The town gets the fees up front and the taxes once filed. Then they wash their hands, never follow up, and never make the neighbors whole by ensuring the projects ACTUALLY GET FINISHED... Meaning you, the project's neighbors get "boiled", or more colloquially, "s-c-r-e-w-e-d".

I don't understand what the problem is? PW Blvd. at Revere is currently an empty lot where a run down gas station once stood. From the article it sounds like the proposal is to simply construct a bank at that lot, and a few houses down Revere Rd. Is this correct? If so, why is this so controversial?

How about just holding to the existing use covenant? A deal is a deal. No hedging.
