James C. Webb, who has been publisher of The Mountain Democrat in Placerville for 24 years, will retire July 31.

That "news paper" has worked hard for many years, trying their best to keep the people of El Dorado County misinformed.It will be good to see Webb gone but things there won't be changing anytime soon.

this paper's goal is to mislead the people of El Dorado County. Read the Bee and beware of it's liberal slant.It covers local news much more completely.

isn't James Webb related to that pathetic Clayton Webb that molested so many young boys in Placerville?I have always found it strange that there was almost no coverage of the Clayton Webb story in the Mountain Democrat.Even the horribly liberal Sac Bee covered that one and they are full of child molestors down there.

The Clayton Webb case is going on in El Dorado County as I write.Why isn't the Mountain Democrat covering this story?This monster is being given a free pass by James Webb. I wonder why....hmmmmmm Now that's good journalism!

Did you notice how the Mountain Democrat failed to show a picture of the child molestor Webb when they finally printed a story about it?It would be a service to this community to see the face of this satan in case their loved ones have had contact with him.Thanks for nothing Mountain Democrat.

The paper has been shitty for years now ever since I left to to to Grenada 1985 should have changed the name to Mountain shitwipe
