That is a bad set-up PennDot has for that section....22 east bound traffic entering 78 has to cross in front of 22 west bound traffic....the stop sign confuses people. They think they just have to stop and then proceed not knowing oncoming traffic does not have to stop.

That was my uncle in the pickup. What a lousy lousy phone call that was to recieve. Im from NJ and not familiar with that area, but from what Ive been reading and the picture it looks like an awful intersection. Hopefully this motivates some response to avoid future accidents.

I'm a member of the Fredericksburg fire company and we have a number of very nasty crashes at that intersection each year. Less then a mile West is the intersection of Rt 22 and Blue Mt. Road (infront of Redner's and Esters dinner) We get calls at this intersection at least once a month!!!! Penndot needs to put in a red light!!!!!

How many people need to get hurt or killed???

Chris, sorry for your lost.

I was the first person not only to witness the accident but to go to the victims. I am truly sorry for the family's loss. I just wanted them to know that their loved ones were comforted before they passed. The police and the paramedics were very helpful and did the best they could.
