Police are investigating a shooting incident Wednesday night at a home on Winchester Avenue near Pikeside.

A Kearneysville woman was arraigned on charges of kidnapping and malicious assault Thursday after allegedly shooting her husband Wednesday night near Pikeside.

Ruby Kern clearly recalls the 19 years she spent on the Bunker Hill Public Service District, especially the last six years that she served as its chairwoman.

Deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department are investigating several reports of items taken from unlocked motor vehicles parked at residences in the Pikeside area, specifically along streets in the area that intersect Winchester Avenue.
