the lady who spoke to the board was latraca moore. she was accompanyed by at least 20 other parents. the issue is not over plus there was another lady that spoke off the record about the abuse of her son (off the record because ed winberry said she did not have cause to speak) her son had blister marks from being struck by his team mates which were slapped on the wrist for punishment. i saw the pictures of his back. our school is out of control and we nee to band together and take our school back. by the way i was at the board meeting

Of coarse he wouldn't want her to speak about that abuse. That could just get them into another mess. But that is cause to speak (on the agenda or not). What does it take to get something done? How many have to get hurt? Too many things have been "swept under the carpet" to protect kin or favorites and it is high time to truly have the student's best interest in mind not just "part time" but "full time"!!!

I want to know why the parents aren't concerned with the child who wrote this on the wall? Why aren't we asking who it was and if they are a threat to our children? This child is going to school with ours everyday! This is where it started and how do I know this child will not harm mine? Why is there no effort being made to find him or her and find out why they would do such a thing? I think all of this needs to be addressed right along with how it was handled by the administration. If one was wrong they all were wrong, the only difference is DeHart is an outsider while the others are home grown Piggott boys.

This is my concern also, what are they doing to find out who wrote that on the wall? My child may be in danger, along with everyone elses.

Could you please tell me what the crap Dehart being an outsider has to do with a screwed up decision? Home grown as you put it, screwed this up.

Well, the fact is we may never know who did this. I don't think the attention has been taken away from "who did this", it's just the whole problem has to do with the way it was handled. The reason your child may or may not be going to school with someone who could harm them is strictly because of THE WAY IT WAS HANDLED. When administration chose to wash the statement off the wall they washed away any chance of finding out who did this. That is why the big question to be answered is WHY!!! Why did you wash it off the wall? Why did you chose to do nothing? Why did you wait until that day to act? And everyone at that high school who knew anything about it is responsible, not just Dehart. However, ultimately he is in charge of the high school so it is his responsibility to act. That is why he is in the hot seat. I don't think being "home grown" has anything to do with it.

You people can't be serious. Do you people honestly believe the Supt. didn't know either? Washing it off, doesn't mean diddly. the non-action is the problem. It stinks from the big office down!

I heard there was a homemade bomb found in a student's locker in Corning High School today. Hope this will be handled correctly.

Those notes are bomb threats! Corning has had 3 this week moron which is what people are talking about! On Monday Corning let school out at 230 Piggott had your basketball girls in their gym at 430 thats a concern. Corning also had threats on Thursday and Friday. People need to focus on finding these perps in Piggott and Corning because it is scary. As far as procedures go Piggott needs to be thankful you dont have the staff we have at Corning the state police were only called in after Friday but then again you all were there playing in that gym too or did you not know about the threats made there?

I'm not quite understanding what you are saying. Are you saying that it could be possible that the same person who wrote the note on the wall at Corning could be the person who did it in Piggott. There is no punctuation in your comment.(I'm an not trying to bash, just wanting to understand what your saying)

No I wasn't implying it was written by the same person. I was trying to make a point that apparently no schools are following a very good policy. I didn't think it was wise to be playing in that gym when just a short time before a bomb threat was discovered and school was let out. Piggott needs to get a grip on correct policies and so does Corning. I wasnt sure if Piggott even knew that Corning had one and you brought your kids here.

Here's the deal.....If one child sees that they could get out of school for the day by leaving a note laying around and then NOTHING being done to find the person who wrote it....then, BINGO, they will do it over and over. Its just a big joke and a free day out of school for them. If they will find who wrote the note/s, and PUNISH them.....no matter who they are (meaning that it could very well be one of the precious athletes and might loose a game without them)......then some of this would stop. Its the "good ole boy" system that will come back to haunt you EVERYTIME!!

why wasnt any one charged with endangering minor childrens lives? then it would be handled by the police and not the school board, is it not a crime to be negligent in the welfare of a minor? i would think allowing children to enter a building where a reported bomb threat was issued would warrant negligence on the part of someone? the fact that the children werent injured is irrelevant according to law.Any idea why this wasn't pursued? i dont personally know any of the staff involved but i would think the law would apply? children as young as 3 and 4 attend this school dont they?

It has nothing to do with the bad decision. What I was saying is they were all wrong not just one. If they ALL knew before hand...they are all at fault. Get them all not just one because we are friends and family with the others. I personally like all these guy's but I love my child!! I want someone I know I can trust with my child's life. Don't cover for the homegrown boys just because we like them. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.

I don't know about anyone else, but personally, no I don't think the super. knew anything about it. If he had he wouldn't have bothered to evacuate the school at the last minute he would have continued to do nothing. He acted as he should have.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Scorpio

It will be easy to let things get on top of you today, especially if you're already feeling rather tired and listless. Do yourself a favor and keep away from anyone who often makes you feel a bit fed up or defensive, because they're the last person you want to be around at the moment. They'll make your spirits sink down to your ankles in a flash, and who needs that?
