Cyber Bullying Bill at Work
In Lincoln County Missouri, a student in the ninth grade has been arrested. She is a student at Troy Buchanan High School. It is not known if she wil face criminal charges, but the arrest will include the harassment charges. She was arrested on October 8 but would not comment because of age and the privacy act. It has been learned that the girl posted a site that used insulting and degrading remarks about the other girl. The site also contained a photo; comments and a poll about the other girl. It has now been removed from the web.It is possible there will be more of these types of arrests in the future. It seems to me that this type of "bullying" has gotten out of hand. The biggest percentage of this type of harassment and bullying is contained to the "teens" but there are cases involving adults using the web in this manner also.

Southeast MIssouri's best show
Fall colors are on the way. This is the time of year that many look forward to. It is a time to see the paint brush of God. From the lifelong resident, to the photo-bugs, there is nothing that compares.
This last week or two has not been the weather that brings out falls best. Warm days and cool nights are the ingredients it takes to capture our love for this time of year. SO, lets pray that the next week has the optimal weather so that we can enjoy "Southeast Missouri's Best Show of the Year"

Uranium Drilling in MIssissippi County
Mississippi County, in the bootheel of Southeast Missouri has a population of just around 13,427. It was organized in 1845 and was named after the Mississippi River. This is a county where around 23% of the residence live below the "poverty Level." This may change for some. A geologist in the area is talking of millions of dollars in jobs. Where some farmers have, for years, made a living growing corn and soybeans, there may be a new crop to be harvested. John Gustavson, the geologist, has stated that this area could be holding one of the "biggest uranium depostits in the entire U.S." He says that if uranium is found, it would be shipped to a facility in a neighboring state for processing into fuel for nuclear power.
