Phoenixville, Schuylkill Township To Get Emergency Generators

Phoenixville Borough and Schuylkill Township will be the recipients of emergency generators, purchased by Chester County with an Urban Area Security Initiative grant secured by the County's Department of Emergency Services. The generators will be used to keep traffic lights running in the event of a major power outage, the county said.

Motorcycle ride to benefit pediatric brain tumor fund

PHOENIXVILLE The Philadelphia Ride for Kids, a charity motorcycle ride of 40 to 50 miles to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, is set for Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m. Part of a national series of motorcycle rides that aim "to eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors by funding medical research and family support," the Philadelphia-area race starts at Valley Forge Christian College, 1401 Charlestown Rd., Phoenixville. On-site registration opens at 8 a.m. on Sunday and closes at 9:30 a.m. The ride is rain or shine.
