Kerhonkson man drowns Sunday while tubing Esopus Creek

A Kerhonkson man drowned while tubing on the Esopus Creek Sunday afternoon. Shandaken police said the victim, Peter DeBaum, 58, fell from his tube in strong rapids near the Sleepy Hollow Campground in Phoenicia, and his legs were caught in an underwater obstruction.
