A lightning-caused fire has burned about 15 acres west of Philipsburg. The Sand Basin Fire is located about two miles from the Sand Basin Road and 25 miles west of Philipsburg in the roadless Sapphires Wilderness Study Area, according to a news release from the Dillon Interagency Dispatch Center.
