Is this really considered a news story??? Only this happened, but we don't really know anything. We're just telling you so we can all wonder together.

Oh how sad; another child suffers at the hand(s) of parents or guardians who absolutely should NEVER had had children in the first place.

It's too bad those individuals can't be sterilized and put in a database so there is no chance of ever having future offspring.

At least the little kid is in a better place; his short life on earth was probably like living in hell.

This is so sad. I agree with Victoria, if you can't take care of your kids then don't have any or give them up. There better somewhere were there not being beating to death. This is so disgusting.

We need the Death Penalty in NM, some might be more likely to think twice before a crime like this. Poor lil baby, the only bright spot, in his heavenly home where no one can hurt him again.

Careful! I agree...however, the problem is you can say "should" all you want, it doesn't translate to "will".

Also, please note no suspect information has been released...so assuming it was the parents is at this time misinformed. Wait until KOB does their job and gathers all the facts first.

...and...holy crap, I typed that last sentence without laughing out loud.:)

I've seen my share of abused kids come through CYFD and this type of thing occurs more frequently than any of us would expect or hope. It's terrible, it's tragic, but my question is HOW DO WE FIX IT?

Posting "poor kid, my prayers are with him, etc." is very nice - and please understand I and others appreciate the message within posts like those - but sadly, they do not help fix the problem. Time to be constructive, not just sympathetic.

Little baby beaten to death by someone who refused to be tolerant of the baby's inability to understand. This lil' one had no chance. Whoever did this apparently got off on torturing and seeing the baby suffer...How can anyone justify the beating? This is a wicked world...

Not again...when does the killing of our little ones stop. These parents should turn their babies into a safe house if they can't keep them. If they kill them..they should suffer the same as their babies did.

Being constructive would be immediately executing the person who did this. After a trial, of course. Thank Bill and lots of state representatives and senators for getting rid of the death penalty.

Valencia county is not the only place this happens. It happens all over the U.S. Don't make a comment as if it is the only place it happens.

Our judicial system allows this to happen constantly! The person who did this will just get a slap on the hand, and few years in jail (most likely just probation) Now we no longer have the death penalty. It’s so easy to get away with any crime in this state. The jail is a revolving door. The person is out of jail before the police officer has even filed the paperwork and has driven back to town from dropping him/her off at the jail.

Are you serious? That's not "another day in Valencia County". I was born and raised in Peralta. This kind of stuff happens everywhere. There are really good people there. As a matter of fact the grandparents of the little boy are very good people and this is a difficult time. Peralta is a very tight knit community. I suggest you do your research before running your mouth.

Actually this isn't accepted by everyone here and a lot of people are upset over this. Don't categorize people or places. There are sick people everywhere. And I don't think you can say anything like this is really accepted.

Use the Carlos Fierro defense:

Your honor, I was just throwing punches in the air, I didn't see the 3 year old son of my girlfriend standing there. It's HIS fault he got killed.

things like this happen all the time and if as a concerned citizen you report it to cyfd they come to your house and threaten to have YOU charged with the district attorney. so.. citizens just look the other way.. I know I do anymore....

The death penalty is not a deterrent. I had a niece, 3 years old who was beaten and sexually molested by her step-father. The death penalty was alive and well in NM then, but the DA chose not to prosecute.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Taurus

If you've been neglecting that special someone in your life over the past few days because you've been so busy with the festivities, try to make up for it today. Maybe you could have some time alone with them, or perhaps you simply need to remind them how much you love them. Don't be afraid to open up your heart to them, and to let them do the same to you.
