Oak Cliff Church Hold Last Service After 118 Years
After 118 years, an Oak Cliff church held its last service Sunday.
A lack of attendance forced Trinity Presbyterian to close its doors. At its peak, membership was up to 800. But recently it had dwindled down to just a few dozen.
"We had a lot of members back in the old days," said church member Byron Beans Bates.
Trinity is located in an area populated mostly by Catholics, so the church also struggled to attract new members.

Cook Children's Medical Center, Komen for the Cure, Trinity Valley School, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Temple Beth-El and the Modern Art Museum are only a few of the organizations that have benefited from the couple of 29 years.
Their volunteer work, philanthropic gifts and commitment to a pluralistic society have earned them this year's major award from the Multicultural Alliance. The alliance was known for years as the National Conference of Christians and Jews and later as the National Conference for Community and Justice. Read more
