A Michigan lawmaker who was detained after Transportation Security Administration personnel discovered a loaded handgun in his carry-on bag will not be charged with a crime. Citing a defect in state law, Emmet County Prosecuting Attorney James Linderman announced that his office will not pursue criminal charges against Rep. Lee Chatfield, R-Levering, who mistakenly left the handgun in his bag while he was trying to fly out of Pellston Regional Airport.
