OVI Checkpoint scheduled for Paulding, Van Wert counties
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office and the villages of Scott and Grover Hill, announced today that troopers and local law enforcement will operate OVI checkpoints held from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday on SR 114 and Blaine Street, in Van Wert and Paulding Counties.

County jobless rates jump
Despite June reports from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services that unemployment in the state was mostly unchanged last month, Tuesday's release of county jobless rates showed that rates jumped during June.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 19, Paulding County Sheriff's deputies accompanied Paulding County Court Probation Officer Tony Gonzales to 759 E. Perry St. Lot #16 in Paulding to check on a subject who is on probation.
