Detroit turns off every public school's drinking water due to high levels of lead, copper
With days before students are expected to return, the superintendent of Detroit's public schools has ordered the immediate shut off of all drinking water. With a new school year less than a week away and teachers back on the job as of Monday of this week, schools throughout the Detroit Public Schools Community District will be without drinking water after tests detected elevated levels of lead and copper.
