Town prohibits digging for recyclables

Digging through the town's waste bins for recyclable material is now illegal in Paradise. The Paradise Town Council made the decision with a 5-0 vote Tuesday night to stop the practice, which council members said was stealing from Northern Recycling and Waste Services, the town's waste hauler.

Rick Silva/Paradise Post Wayne Noel, the Jr. Vice Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 106 in Paradise, plays "Taps" at 9:03 a.m. to commemorate the time that United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower of the New York World Trade Center. Noel also played At 8:46 a.m., when American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the New York World Trade Center, at 9:13 a.m., American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington, VA., and At 10:10 a.m. United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in a field near Shanksville, PA after the passengers make a heroic attempt to regain control of the aircraft from the hijackers.

Resident injured by Paradise fire limited to one room
