Figures lie and liars figure.

Crime isn't down, but the department's noses are getting longer. A couple of years ago they reconfigured crime categories and stats to make it look like crime is down.

Along with the real criminals, they've committed felony lying.

They've got to be kidding and insulting our intelligence at the same time, too. Quotes:"LAPD's top brass tried to assure residents there is nothing to panic about... and "Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger said during a news conference Monday. "It is nothing to become alarmed about."

Get real police brass and demand Special Order 40 be scrapped; it will be a start. In the meantime, all of us law abiding citizens will have to watch our backs wherever we walk or drive.

According to the LAPD's own website, there have been 10,629 violent crimes committed so far THIS YEAR.

Are we citizens supposed to believe this is "normal?" This wasn't normal when I was growing up.

Most of these crimes taking place in Foothills Division, as usual. Most unsolved . Maybe those police officers from Foothill should get off the cell phone and look at what is going on!

What do you expect from Mayor Viva La Raza and his lap dog Bratton. Last time I checked Viva La Raza was an ex gang member who still thinks these scumbagas can be saved through some half ass mentoring program. I.E. The tagger who tagged up the bus that Viva La Raza and Superintendent Brewer were riding in. How about this for an idea....if you look like a gang banger, act like a gang banger, etc..take your rear end out to the desert and shoot you. Simple addition by subtraction.

Apparently the mayor isn't aware that the death rate in Los Angeles under HIS WATCH! is much higher than in Afghanistan AND Iraq! Americans (well, mostly Americans)have a higher death rate in Los Angeles than in those war torn countries. Seems that Los Angeles elected this useless immoral womanizing mayor, Los Angeles is getting what it voted for, a useless immoral womanizing mayor who cares not a bit about the high murder rate in Los Angeles. Truth hurts doesn't it. It is time for people to stop being politically correct and address the real problems that we are facing. Simple psychology states that people will adapt to their surroundings. If these gang bangers have fear of severe reprisal for their actions, then they will not behave in such a manner. When people can't even dress a certain way without being prosecuted thats when we know we've strayed from the american ideals that our country once stood for. I agree that gangs need to be stopped however the death penalty?? that's just ludacris. The world is an unfair place, the innocent are usually the victims, that's the way it's always been and how it will unfortunately be. It's sad how young these people were.

The gang problem is out of control and needs to be addressed. I just can't stand morons like surfwidow who don't even read the article and just use it as an excuse to blame illegals for everything. Where does it say they were illegal? No one wants public execution for the wannabe's. We are talking about the self professed hardcore gangbangers. Execute a couple of them and see how many of the wannabe's decide to wannabee something else. Why not, they are executing our innocent people. Time to fight back if the cops wont.

The mayor and the police aren't going to do anything. They want LA to be a 3rd world city filled with poor Mexican peasants and Mexican gangs. Don't ask me why, but they do. And if a few of the poor peasants get shot, well, according to LAPD, they've seen worse.

We have a president that sent over 4000 soldiers to die in an illegal war. An administration that put unconstitutional laws on the books (like the Patriot Act, Military Commissions Act). Have two presidential candidates that bow down to the Israeli lobby (AIPAC) the Lockheeds and Boeing, Monsanto's of the corporate world. A comatose Congress. A crashing dollar, an illegal Federal Reserve Bank printing even more "fake" money. In perspective, a couple of gangsters thieving and killing is a drop in the proverbial bucket. Your chance of getting killed on the freeway is way, way WAY greater than getting into it with a gangster. Google "Endgame" by Alex Jones.."Freedom to Fascism". Armed citizens=Less Crime! Another failure by the LAPD, Why exactly are we wasting more money instead of demanding better results?

I say we base crime statistics on Not only reported crime, but reported insurance claims, as well as adding 15% to the number they give us so we can actually see the real crime.

It is a proven fact graffiti crimes go unreported at a rate of 15000% yes that is correct for every 1 15000 go unreported.

The numbers are similar for simple assault and other crimes that don't end up with a body.

Police reports just don't get filed out, other times the "crime" is placed in a category it does not belong to keep the numbers down.

This happens on college campuses as well as every city and county law enforcement agency.

LAPD is to scared and to ignorant to actually fight criminal gangs, it is also not going to shoot itself in the foot (except for a few officers who shall remain nameless to prevent embarrassment)and stop the gangs who instill fear and end up lining the budget of the LAPD.

Until the City demands results from it's investment nearly 80% of the budget, from the LAPD, it should not bring salary increases to the table, instead the City should consider investing that money in Subcontracting additional Los Angeles County Sheriffs to assist in patrolling the communities that most require it until crime goes down the LAPD gets no raise and that money goes to pay the Sheriff.

I guarantee results!
Either the Sheriffs clean up the mess, or the LAPD gets there house in order.
