Area officials are hoping for a favorable outcome to their proposed local option sales tax when Jefferson County voters take to the polls Tuesday for a special election.

Tuesday, Iowans will head to the polls in 362 districts across the state to vote for the men and women who will be collectively affecting Iowa's education system.
