Seven public libraries received a helping hand recently, thanks to the generosity of a lifelong educator, the late Shirley Kreutz Bennett of Lincoln.

The 40th Commencement of Northeast Community College will take place on Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m. in the Cox Activities Center on the Norfolk campus.

Libraries in Albion, Hildreth, Mitchell, Osmond, Valley, Walthill and Wausa were awarded grants from the Kreutz Bennett Donor-Advised Fund, through the Nebraska Community Fund.

Custer County Sheriff Dan Osmond has been recognized by his peers for a job well done.
