A northeast Kansas county is celebrating itself and summer this week. The Osage County Fair continued today with the Osage City Chamber of Commerce's parade through downtown.

Success is a primary reason why the Greater Emporia BBQ Festival for this year has been canceled.

Emporia will be surrounded by fireworks displays during the holiday weekend, though it will have no formally sponsored display of its own.

The scorecard for Osage City Country Club measures the nine-hole course at just 3,144 yards from the tips.
