i have been wanting to say this for a long time. for county that is poor does anybody else realize we pay for 2 separate school systems? no other county i know of does this. we need to wisen up!

People, this is not Oneida TN that this topic is about. There is no flu outbreak at Oneida schools. If you are going to post on this topic at least click on the link below it to find out what it is you are replying to!! We are not the only Oneida. There are several more towns with the same name. And as far as having two seperate school systems, yes other counties do to. Ever been to Fentress county? They have Clarkrange High School and York. Cookeville also has two seperate school systems.

They should just do what the state of ky is doing. Use the attendance for last years records to get their money from. That way they will never have to close the schools no matter how many kids get sick. The numbers there have been unreal with missing and they continue to go to school. So get over it and let a few be taught here and there. I do agree the flu shots spread it. Usually not to the person who gets them or the mist...which is worse... It is the ones around them who come into contact with them that get it.

Sorry, thought Upperman was a private school but after some research it is also part of Putnam County Schools.
